I am an Indian from Tamil Nadu, who predominantly watches Tamil and Malayalam Cinema; occasionally - Telugu, Hindi and English; rarely - Kannada and Marathi. Beyond watching, I love writing and talking about cinema which I intend to do here!
Why do I write about cinema?
So, what are these sections in the newsletter about?
Just 3 sections, and I have put in a lot of thought to keep all my posts categorized into these 3, so that you are not overwhelmed!
Ganesh_reviews: reviews on the movies I watch.
reviews : Brief, under-5-min reads. Word count <= 500.
reviews_in_detail : Detailed, more-than-5-min reads. Word count > 500.
meme_reviews : Grab popcorn, sit back and laugh your ass out!
Spotlight
Spotlight on : for film/artist recommendations and appreciations!
Spotlight back on : for revisiting classic films! This will mostly be lesser-known films, as the idea is to promote good cinema.
Vaanga_Pazhagalaam : Come, lets mingle!!
Uraiyaadal : translates to “conversation”.
Why Uraiyaadal? Cinema was, is, and will always be a community experience. Art is subjective and thus, it gives multiple avenues for interesting perspectives and conversations. This category of posts will be me conversing with one or more readers/friends of this newsletter about a particular aspect of them being a movie watcher - for example - them being fan of someone or them being fascinated by the concept of something or their tryst with cinema etc.
Like how John Doe is used as a placeholder name in US legal system to conceal the actual identity of the person involved, if the person wishes to keep his/her/their identity(ies) concealed in the conversation - we will be going with Contractor Nesamani, and other such Vadivel character names (if more than 1 person) from tamil pop culture!! :DFan Theories, cinema gossip, Speculations etc : The topic is self explanatory!
